About the Position
TST Boces is seeking a dedicated and innovative Instructional Specialist to join their Regional School Success Department. This is a 10-month, full-time position (190 days) with a salary range of $55,250 – $65,000 for the 2024-2025 school year. The position follows the 10-month school calendar, working 7.75 hours/day, 38.75 hours/week, with up to 20 additional days in the summer approved on a per diem basis. Key Responsibilities
- Coaching and Instructional Support: Provide support in computer science, instructional technology, virtual and blended learning environments, media/digital literacy, and information fluency.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with teachers, administrators, students, support staff, instructional coaches, and technical support providers.
- Designing Learning Experiences: Create purposeful learning experiences in various modalities, incorporating culturally and linguistically responsive teaching and personalized learning.
- Building Capacity: Assist in the facilitation of curriculum and instructional planning, development, and implementation of the NYS Learning Standards to ensure equitable access for all students.
- Regional Planning and Advisory Councils: Attend and support relevant regional planning and advisory councils as requested.
- Resource Management: Maximize integration and manage the regional collection of instructional technology and media resources, known as The Library of Things.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by program coordinators and the Director.
Qualifications
- Certification: New York State (NYS) Permanent or Professional Teaching Certification.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of successful teaching or similar experience.
- Knowledge: Current knowledge of research and best practices relating to the Danielson Framework for Teaching, the ISTE Student and Teacher standards, NYS K-12 Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards, and NYSED content area learning standards for students.
